Slow down. Breathe. Stitch.

In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore slow stitching a meditative, intuitive form of hand sewing that invites us to pause, be present, and create with intention. Guided by the quiet wisdom of generations before us, this practice values process over perfection and presence over product.

Together, we’ll reflect on the question: What do you carry?
What do you hold close? What do you protect?
What are you ready to release?

Using treasured fabrics, threads, and found materials, we’ll explore stitching as a form of meditation, storytelling, and self-discovery. Each stitch becomes a prayer, a rhythm, a way to ground ourselves in the present moment.

  • Through guided exercises, you’ll experience:
Translating memory, emotion, and nature’s whispers
The quiet power of mending, both cloth and self.

This workshop is not about technique or perfection. It’s about trusting your hands, honoring the process, and embracing the beauty in imperfection.

No sewing experience is needed—just curiosity and an open heart.
All materials and tools are provided.

Come as you are. Carry only what serves you.

SoundBath

Join as we celebrate the season of light and growth!

Celebrate the astronomical start of summer with a sound-bath, framed with guided meditation, and positive intention-setting.

With the beginning of each new season, Mother Nature offers us an opportunity to pause and reflect, considering fresh intentions for the months ahead.

You will be guided into stillness with meditation, so that intentions can arise from a place of clarity. We’ll then flow into a nurturing sound-bath. The celestial sounds of the crystal singing bowls, the multi-tonal resonance of the gongs, and the earthy rhythm of the chimes will work as a balm for the busy mind, coaxing the brainwaves into a more relaxed and meditative state, where seeds can be deeply embedded, and rest can be fully received.

Combined with guided meditation, this experience supports holistic healing for both body and soul. Light touch Reiki will be provided at the end of the sound session to promote wellbeing.

Please bring a snack to enjoy on in the Picnic Area.

Unfold. Stitch. Gather. Create.

Join us at Mad Lavender Farm with artist Sue Keown for a magical day of bookmaking, where nature and creativity intertwine. In this hands-on workshop series, you’ll craft three unique handmade books—each inspired by the beauty and rhythm of the natural world.

Concertina Book: Unfolding Creativity
Paint, mark, and fold a single sheet of paper into a flowing journal or sketchbook. Like the petals of a flower or the waves of the wind, this accordion-style book mirrors the unfolding of time and creativity.

Pamphlet Book: Stitched & Bound with Intention
Sew and bind your own personal journal using simple stitching techniques. Inspired by the interwoven roots and branches of the farm, this book will become a sacred space for reflection, storytelling, and creative exploration.

Brown Paper Bag Book: Hidden Treasures & Secret Spaces
In this playful workshop, we’ll transform simple brown paper bags into pocket-filled books—perfect for holding found objects, sketches, and whispered thoughts. Like nature’s hidden wonders, these books will be filled with secret folds, tucked-away moments, and personal reflections.

Surrounded by lavender fields, buzzing bees, and the peaceful embrace of the land, you’ll leave with three beautiful handmade books—and a deeper connection to nature, creativity, and yourself.

Come with open hands, an open heart, and a willingness to explore. No prior bookmaking experience is needed—just the desire to create in a space of beauty and inspiration.
