Succulents

This is a hands-on, beginner friendly workshop that will guide you in creating a personalized open glass Succulent Terrarium.

You will learn to layer substrate to create drainage, arrange succulents and decorate with different elements (such as stone,

moss, sand and figurines.)

Everyone will assemble and take home a long lasting, low maintenance miniature garden!

This is a fun, relaxing creative experience that appeals to both teenagers and adults~ bring a friend for a tranquil afternoon on

the farm!

All materials are included and tools are provided.

With a BS in Ornamental Horticulture from Rutgers University, Ginny has enjoyed an extensive career in cultivating exotic tropicals with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Her passion for plants is contagious and she can’t wait to bring you into the enchanting world of Terrariums.

Adrienne, Shannon and April have collaborated to bring you a beautiful day of simple Earth Medicine practices to enhance your well being and to give gratitude to Mother Earth.

To be of service in the world and to show up in full, loving capacity, we are first responsible for our own well being,  We have designed this year’s Earth Medicine Retreat to help you fully replenish and to take what you’ve learned with you, actual tools and techniques that will help you to continue your practice of self care and well-being on your return.

This year the take aways include:

An Affirmation Journal that you craft yourself (with our guidance) of hand-made paper.

A custom herbal tea that you blend with April Morecraft for heart support.

Our lunch is locally sourced and will be catered by our bestie chef, Julie of Lovin Oven.

Your Facilitators:

April is the creator of Oak Root Herbals, a home based, small batch herb business. She has studied  with Linda Shanahan of Bluestem Botanicals, Robin Rose Bennet of Wise Woman Ways and  Sajah Poham of The School of Evolutionary Herbalism. She looks forward to sharing plant medicine and magic with you.

Adrienne is an artist, lavender farmer, reader of IChing & Tarot, root digger, goat momma and co-owner of Mad Lavender Farm. Adrienne wears many hats on the farm, including the Mad Hat and likes to paint murals on any available surface.

Shannon is the owner of Water Street Wellness and her reiki practice Anavah Mind Body Soul. Shannon is a champion of women, practitioners, and students. You will often hear her talk about connecting to your “you-ness” because she believes wholeheartedly in each individual’s authenticity being nurtured and given space to bloom.

“Divination, moving meditation & a little body magic.”

Practicing yoga and reading tarot cards are two ways that many people learn to tune in, reflect, and strengthen their connection to themselves and the world around them.

Together, Jenn of Wildflower Yoga and Adrienne from Mad Lavender Farm will lead you through a workshop of Divine Intention. You’ll flow through a yoga practice based on Moon Salutations – the ancient yoga sequence designed to quiet the mind, calm the body and start a-new while drawing in the feminine energy of the moon. Afterwards, learn the themes and ways of the Tarot based on intention settings for the New or Full Moon.

A private 3-card reading with Adrienne will allow you to dive deeper into manifestations for a grounded, deeper understanding of your true self and the Universe at large.​ Tea will be served, friends will be made as you converse over tarot while watercolor painting your own Tarot card to take home with you to further calm you on your moon journey ahead (*New for 2025). This workshop is designed to be engaging for beginners and experienced practitioners alike.  * This class is limited to 8 people per class.

This workshop is an introduction to the basics of plant medicine making with local herbalist April Morecraft.

This workshop is an introduction to the basics of plant medicine making. Together we will explore how to make topical and internal preparations. We will discuss tinctures, infused vinegars, infusions, decoctions, syrups, infused oils, salves, compresses, poultices, and flower essences. During this workshop we will discuss respectful harvesting practices and how to commune and build relationships with plants. During this class you will make your own tincture and salve

April is a mother, teacher, gardener, folk herbalist and creator of Oak Root Herbals. She began her formal studies with a farm based herbal foundations course with Bluestem Botanicals followed by a 3 year apprenticeship with Robin Rose Bennet of Wise Woman Ways. April is currently continuing her plant path with online studies at The School of Evolutionary Herbalism and North West School of Aromatic Medicine.  

She looks forward to sharing plant medicine and magic with you.

Blue Oyster Mushroom Cultivation Workshop – Sept

Are you interested in learning more about mushrooms? Join mushroom cultivator and forager Kacy Binz in a fun and hands-on mushroom cultivation workshop! Kacy will walk you through each step of the growing process, from mycelium to mushroom. She will lead the group in an inoculation of Blue Oyster Mushrooms, and you will leave with your own at home mushroom growing kit! You will also learn about the phenomenal health benefits of mushrooms as well as some tasty recipes to introduce wild mushrooms more into your diet. She will also have some tips and advice for those interested in wild foraging.

Kacy Binz, farmer & mushroom cultivator

Kacy has experience growing a wide variety of delectable mushrooms, such as lions mane, oysters, piopinno, white beech, chestnut, nameko and more.  She also enjoys foraging for wild mushrooms and plants, as well as making tea blends and tinctures. Her goal is to inspire people to incorporate more mushrooms into their diet, to become more connected with nature and our source of food, and to make delicious and creative recipes using mushrooms!
